Recipe No.24 Pressure Cooker Tomato & Basil Risotto*

    October 28, 2014 /

One of my favourite things about the colder weather, is eating so much comfort food! I’m not talking about roast dinners (although I won’t say no to one of those) for me it’s soup, casseroles and my favourite, risotto. My mother could never be bothered to make risotto when I was a kid, in fact I taught myself to make it while I was at university and since it has been a staple in the older months. Plus it’s something I can guarantee Little Miss will eat. Making risotto is a lot of work, a lot of patience and stirring goes along with it. But I have finally found the…

    Tune Hotels, Newcastle Review

    October 21, 2014 /

Last week I received and exciting email inviting me to review a hotel. Now we all know how much I love travelling, so clearly I was going to accept, even if this hotel was only 40 minutes down the road. Having just opened last Wednesday, the Newcastle branch of Tune Hotels now stands in the Grade II Listed Proctor House near the Quayside. Tune Hotels are a fairly new concept to this country. Newcastle is one of only 7 in the UK, and one of only 2 outside London, Tune Hotels believe in “a great night’s sleep, at a great price” (found here). So yesterday afternoon Little Miss and I…

Things I Hate About Being a “Grown Up”*

    October 20, 2014 /

Technically, I have been officially and adult for almost 9 years, however I don’t include the time I was at university, or the time I lived with my two of my best friends before falling pregnant. As during those years I was completely reckless and made very childish decisions. Ahh, those were good years. Anyway, I’ve mentioned a few times in regards to my lack of blogging that I’ve been feeling “blue” since returning from America. And I have realised a lot of the things that make me miserable are the day to day things that all adults have to deal with. It’s just a fact of life but it…

My Eight Favourite Toys for 0-2 Year Olds

    October 19, 2014 /

LINKS REMOVED AS ITEMS NO LONGER FOR SALE My daughter has a lot of toys, in fact.. that’s probably the understatement of the century. And yes, a lot of these are pink, but that’s because pink is her favourite colour. I am not one of these who sees toys as girls toys and boys toys, I tend to buy my daughter things I know she will enjoy. However saying that, I also see nothing wrong with girls liking pink and dolls, and princesses.. I like pink and dolls and princesses so I see that more as a reason why my daughter does not because I’ve forced her to be like…

Outfit of the Day – That Smile I Lost, Well I’ve Found Somehow

    October 18, 2014 /

I have been so lax on the outfit front so when my beautiful Blue Vanilla skirt arrived I just knew I had to make an effort to blog about it. So today was a bit sunny and a bit rainy but I thought, what the heck? I have an umbrella. So out I went. Only to my back garden though…           Intergalactic Starlight Crown £10, Crown & Glory Miss Selfridge Leather Jacket (as seen here), Vinted Black Basic Top (ancient, similar here), H&M Live & Love Necklaces £4 each, Charmed Ivy Umbrella (belongs to my mum) Giovana Double Layer Skirt* £24, Blue Vanilla Trasparenze Gennifer Merino…
