Jim Beam Bourbon Sauce Review
Has anyone actually managed to have a barbeque this year yet? I know we haven’t which is driving my dad crackers at the moment. However to cheer him up I’ve got him a new sauce to marinate the chicken in before it hits the coals, Jim Beam Bourbon Sauce*. I of course had to give it a try, he doesn’t like to flavour his meat with anything but the best (he considers himself to be a bit of a barbeque conciser) and today I’m going to share some thoughts with you on the stuff. The bottle itself is styled on the shape of a hipflask which I think is a…

Pommito Mocktail Recipe
We’re slowly inching to what should be the summer months, June, July and August although so far we haven’t seen much heat! However, I remain ever hopeful and it hasn’t stopped me preparing for summer as far as every day life goes. One of my favourite things about the warmer weather is the sort of food and drink us Brits tend to turn to, we swap soups and roast dinners for salads and barbeques, we tend to order more fruity cider and cocktails while out in beer gardens. Appletiser has recently released a new flavour to go along with their original “Appletiser” and “Apple and Pomegranate” this is “Apple and…

Lemon & Mustard Crumb Chicken with Spaghetti Recipe
The Great British Butcher All Natural Rubs and Crumbs Gift Set* RRP £18.60, Not On The High Street I was recently sent this fantastic Great British Butcher gift set to try. We all know how much I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen so it was clearly something I was going to get a lot of use out of. GBB was created by a third generation family working in the food and butchery trade. The set contains two rubs and two crumbs that contain all natural and only the best ingredients. They’re also vegetarian friendly (although this recipe isn’t). The set is available on Not On The High Street as well…

Where Amy Ate – Zapatista, Newcastle
It’s been a while since I did a Where Amy Ate post, mainly because the only places I eat out in are Costa or Cafe Nero ha. However today I was invited down to Newcastle to meet up with Rachel, Sian & Vicki as all the ladies like good food, I knew I was going to get a decent meal in a great restaurant. We had originally planned to go to the Fat Hippo for burgers however they don’t let you book a table during the day and when we arrived it was a 20 minute wait for a table then a 40 minute wait for food! No thank you!…

Recipe No.24 Pressure Cooker Tomato & Basil Risotto*
One of my favourite things about the colder weather, is eating so much comfort food! I’m not talking about roast dinners (although I won’t say no to one of those) for me it’s soup, casseroles and my favourite, risotto. My mother could never be bothered to make risotto when I was a kid, in fact I taught myself to make it while I was at university and since it has been a staple in the older months. Plus it’s something I can guarantee Little Miss will eat. Making risotto is a lot of work, a lot of patience and stirring goes along with it. But I have finally found the…
