Task Lighting
Table lamps are a great form of task lighting because they brighten up the desk space where the studying takes place. Reading and writing without appropriate task lighting can lead to eye strain and headaches which will drastically reduce motivation and productivity. There are lots of lamps on the market, some more stylish than others, and some that are great for saving space, so be sure to shop around before making your decision. You can also team your task lighting with pendant lighting or recessed downlights, to brighten up the rest of the room.

Natural Lighting
Of course, natural lighting isn’t always available, especially after school in the winter when it gets dark early. However, if there’s a window in your study room, it’s worth putting the desk near it. If your child is studying near the window when the sun does happen to be up, the natural light will limit the strain on their eyes.

LED Lighting
LED lighting is highly popular because it’s energy efficient and also provides immediate strong light as soon as it’s switched on. Although they’re slightly more expensive than their standard alternatives, they last a lot longer. This is useful if your child is going to be spending a lot of time in their study room over the next few years.
