Disney Confessions Part One
The current topic of post doing the rounds at the moment among Disney bloggers is about Disney confessions. It appears Sarah started it back in November but both Jane and Sam did there own last month which made me want to share mine. It was so much easier than I thought to come up with Disney confessions, maybe I just kept a lot of opinions bottled up haha.
I really don’t rate The Lion King.
I know it was of my era, it was released in 1995 when I was 7 years old but I don’t know if it was because it was the Frozen of it’s time and the market was completely satuated with it that I just fell out of love quickly or because I just found it boring. But either way, it’s never been one of my favourites, I barely owned anything The Lion King related as a child and to this day it isn’t one I’d stick on. Never the less, I enjoy belting out I Just Can’t Wait to Be King and I’ve seen the musical version twice, so I can’t dislike it that much.
I also find Finding Nemo super annoying.
Yes, one of the most beloved of the Disney Pixar movies, I really do not enjoy. I find everyone in Finding Nemo so freaking whiny especially Nemo and his father. The whole story is annoying and I just don’t really like fish, water or sea creatures in general anyway without there being a movie about them. However I will still go see Finding Dory as Dory is the only thing I liked about the original movie and I actually really like the musical version at Animal Kingdom.
However, I do really like Peter Pan 2; Return to Neverland
And all my Disney and Peter Pan loving friends hate me for this. Yes there is a lot wrong with it and I could possibly write an essay on this. However, I love the story, I love the music and I like that in the end Jane ends up being pretty kick ass after being burned constantly by Peter’s arrogance (if anyone has read the book they’ll know that Peter Pan is incredibly arrogant and full of himself and this is even more apparant in the sequal). I always cry at the end at the bit with Wendy and Peter Pan.
I really dislike Mickey Bars
Those Mickey Mouse head shaped ice cream bars that are kinda like a Magnum. I cannot stand them. Firstly, I don’t like ice cream and secondly the chocolate tastes wrong. It also has a really short stick which does not work in Florida where the sun can melt the whole thing in two seconds flat.
I will never ever ride The Tower of Terror (in any park)
After one #disneybloggerschat I realised how many people counted this as their favourite Disney ride but even looking at it fills me with terror. I hate rides with huge drops. In fact up until I was 22 I hated all thrill rides, so the fact that I can now go on rollercoasters is a big improvement but I will never ever ride this one ride, and I don’t even care who knows this. I would cry and throw up everywhere and that’s not enjoyable for anyone.
Olaf is one of the most annoying Disney characters
Sorry guys, but I have pretty much no love for Olaf these days, blame the fact that Frozen is so freaking overrated. When I first saw the movie I found him adorable and hilarious but after over 2 years of him I’m really ready to let it go, or let him go I should say, right over a very large cliff. I still love Josh Gad, especially as Bear Claw in New Girl but Olaf, me and him are completely done.
I liked the Birthday Cake castle for the 25th
The first time I ever visited Walt Disney World Cinderella’s castle was decorated as a pink cake and everyone I have ever spoken to hated it like that, but I loved it. I don’t know if it’s because it was my first time to a Disney park, or because I genuinely liked it like that, but I have such fond memories that I feel a little sad when people say they disliked it like that. It was definitely better than when Stitch took it over anyway…
Illuminations Kinda Bore Me
In the two times I have been to WDW with LM so far, I have never watched Illuminations because to be honest.. I find it quite boring compared to Wishes and Fantasmic. It was always my parents favourite as a kid, and a tradition for us to do it on our very last night, but as of yet, I’ve always skipped it out in favour of more Wishes. However I do have a FP to watch it on Sunday 13th, we’ll see if it’s as boring as I remember.
I hate that Wendy is French during Disney Dreams
I love that Disney Dreams’ main focus is Peter Pan loosing his shadow, but what I don’t like is that Peter speaks English and Wendy replies in French.. WENDY IS ENGLISH, she’s one of the few Disney characters actually from England so it really really bothers me she speaks in French. Plus she’s my favourite character, I guess that makes me biased haha.
Character meeting makes me feel super uncomfortable
Character meets are the biggest part of our trips, but not for me.. for Little Miss. I hide behind the camera and the reason is they make me super uncomfortable. They always have since I was a kid. I always looked awkward in the photos and I look even worse now as I try to smile and just end up looking like a potato. I mentioned in my Walt Disney World Birthday Bucket list that I do want to make an effort to meet them on my birthday but whether I do is whole other thing.
I hate that Disney keeps remaking things
Not every animation needs a live action counter part, and not ever classic needs a remake. Please stop and go back to being original.
Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Paris is my favourite castle
It’s just the prettiest to me. Don’t get me wrong, I cry every time I see Cinderella Castle in WDW but it’s more because I can’t believe I’m there where as it’s so much easier to get to DLP. But I just love the colours and the fact you can go look around it and the dragon underneath. It’s just beautiful.
I think that’s enough Disney confessions for today.. perhaps this will be a part one and I can go on and do a part two, that’s if people enjoy this one anyway.

I went to Disney when I was 13 the tower of terrier ride was terrifying, There’s just a lab bar and it didn’t hold me down enough because when it went down my butt left the seat. Clearly everthing was fine but I don’t think I would go back on the ride

Yay another one!
I’ve a few issues with you now haha, some I knew and some I’ve just discovered, The Lion King one makes me sad 🙁 I remember seeing this at the cinema when I was 10 and instantly fell in love and till this day it’s still one of my all time faves. The birthday cake castle, really? REALLY? haha, you must be the only person in the world that did like it 😉
Have to agree about Illuminations, compared to other shows especially Wishes it just has no wow factor, I see so many people go on about how much they love it but I just can’t see no amazement or anything special about it.

I only went on the Tower of Terror ride once, that was completely enough for me!! I absolutely loved BTM, but apart from that I didn’t really like the rides; everything was too spinning and in the dark for my liking!
I didn’t really watch much Disney as a child, so I started catching up as an adult; it’s definitely a different experience!! xx

YESSS I agree with so many of these! I liked Finding Nemo when I was a kid but I’ve had no real urge to watch it ever since so I don’t really get the hype behind Finding Dory. I’ll definitely go see it in the cinema and give it a chance though still! And you look so gorgeous in that character meet picture with Minnie – you don’t look awkward at all! ♥
