What I’d Put In A Girls Night in Gift Basket*

You know some days your friends just have a really bad day and you want to cheer them up? In the past I’ve bought Lush and sent it via the store but it just doesn’t seem personal enough. So with Galentines day on the horizon for those of us who don’t celebrate V-Day why not put together a girls night in gift night gift basket and gather at someone’s house to celebrate each other. Or better yet, split the cost of a hotel room and really go all out.

Today I thought I’d share with you what I’d put into my girls night in basket. Since I never have date nights (single girl problems) I’m sort of an expert as to what you need to have a fab night in.

Chick Flick Movies
One of the most important things for a girls night in is the choice of movie. A lot of people go in for weepies but I’m not someone who gets a kick sobbing in front of my friends (although it has happened) so I’ve gone with some of my favourite rom-coms and chick flicks, that although I probably will cry at 10 Things I Hate About You (there is no probably about it to be honest..) the rest I mainly laugh out loud at. Other great ones are 13 Going on 30, Pitch Perfect, The Sweetest Thing, Clueless, My Best Friends Wedding… I could go on! The ones I’ve pictured above are the ones I love to watch with my friends, especially Mean Girls, Easy A and She’s The Man, mainly because they’re just so quotable!

Pizza Delivery Menu
You could cook, or you could order pizza. For me, ordering pizza always wins. I NEVER get the chance to order take out because it’s so wasted on just me. Plus nothing tastes as good as take out pizza, frozen pizza has NOTHING on it. Last week when Sunae was staying we ordered pizza and even though it took what felt like a lifetime to arrive when it did it was everything i’d been dreaming of! I’d only been on a diet a week too but it tasted so good. Hopefully you’re lucky to be part of a group of friends who appreciates pizza as much as I do!

Sugary Goodness
It wouldn’t be a girls night in without something sweet and bad for you, right? I left this vague because I think it’s all preference… you could be a cake girl, or even cheesecake.. or maybe just a big bar of chocolate. For me, a huge plate of macarons wouldn’t go wrong. I haven’t pictured anything because at the moment I don’t have anything sugary in my house due to trying to loose weight before Florida (where I plan on eating my weight in all things bad for me).

Alcohol
Like with pizza and something sweet, you need alcohol. Alcohol gets everyone relaxed and ready to share their secrets and embarrassing crushes which are always a vital part of a girls night in. Perhaps just one big bottle of spirits to share (wine is so 2015) or if everyone drinks something different how about a nice selection that way everyone can enjoy their own tipple. Or you could mix them together and make a signature cocktail?

Pamper Products
While watching your movies and eating your pizza you have to fit in a little bit of pampering. Facemasks are a great way to go it’s something you can just stick on and leave. Make sure you get masks for all different skins as some can irritate certain types. I also think a nice selection of nail varnishes is a good idea because again it’s something simple and not too invasive. If you’re really into your beauty you can try hair styling or even do full make overs. My dream girls night in would include Disney Princess make overs!

Pyjamas
Got to be comfortable, right? You don’t have to be dressed up to the nines to impress your friends!

A Hair Brush
Not only is it great if you’re the type of girls who like to sit around doing hair.. unfortunately I’m not, I hate having my head touch. HOWEVER I’ve put hairbrush in here because you need it to sing along to all those Taylor Swift songs. I mean if you have any way to get Taylor Swift to your girls night in, that would be even better. If you’re having a post-break up girls night in, remember you have to play “We Are Never Getting Back Together” on repeat.
