Outfit of the Day – O is for Owl
FINALLY this place has some sun! Yesterday when everywhere else in the country was bathed in sunlight it was grey an miserable up here, so I’d given up hope on Spring again, but then this morning I woke to sun shining in. It makes me so happy when the sun shines. I loved getting dressed this morning and putting on make up. I’ve taken some photos and I’m going for a walk with Little Miss. I hope this carries on for the rest of the week, since it’s my BIRTHDAY WEEK (I’m celebrating it a LOT this year, sorry!) I’m starting to have a love affair with my camera. I’m…

Happy International Womens Day
I’m not sure how into this International Womens Day I really am, but I thought i’d write a quick post about the inspiring and supportive women in my life. Starting with my Nanny. My Nanny is husband to one frustrating man, mother to five children, four girls and one boy. She is grandmother to sixteen grandchildren and great grand mother to twelve. She has been a housewife all her life, marrying at seventeen. She’s suffered mental health problems, lost family, close family but through it all, she’s held our family together. Although my grandfather claims to be the head of the family, it’s really my Nanny. She gives and gives,…

Recipe No.23 Gluten Free Chocolate Brownies
I wasn’t actually going to blog tonight, or tomorrow for that matter because I have my two fav girls from university coming to stay to celebrate my birthday (part one of it anyway). They’re still half an hour away so I thought I’d quickly share this recipe with you. The reason this recipe is gluten free is because I took part in a gluten free week, following a diet put together by Ilumi to help boost energy and clear up my skin. However, there were no desserts in it, and I need my desserts so after a bit of browsing through my cookbooks I came across a Nigella recipe for…

World Book Day Tag
Today is World Book Day, for anyone who has been living under a rock. I always know World Book Day is coming up for two reasons, one that my mum gives me a pile of left over vouchers as she knows how much I love a new book, and two it’s coming up to my birthday. When I was at school I actually loved it being World Book Day on my birthday because it meant going into school dressed up and I loved nothing more than going to school dressed up. Now as an adult with a child that doesn’t yet attend school, I didn’t really observe it other than…

My Inspiring Bloggers
This weekend past I felt in a bit of a blogging slump. I didn’t have writers block, or nothing to write about, I just felt very “meh” with my blog. I wrote a whole bunch of posts and instead of feeling really organised and accomplished, I just felt a bit panicked.. I worried no one really read my blog or if they did, they found it boring and unoriginal. This feeling lasted for a good couple of days and every time I brought the page up, I just felt sad. However, due to this feeling, on Sunday I made sure I was able to take part in the #lbloggers…

Pebble Grey LED Cosmetic Mirror Review
Just a quick little review today of a lovely cosmetic mirror I was kindly sent to review. I do really appreciate when companies think my blog would be a good fit for their brand, I feel like I’ve come so far from the days when I’d struggle to have something to write because there would be so little going on in my life. Now I always feel like I have something to share with my readers whether it be a review, recipe or just a snippet from my life. Last night when I took part in the #lbloggers chat I was reminded of this. Today I’ve managed to post twice…
