Eco Cleaning Hacks to Try*
In recent years cleaning hacks have become and more and more popular with the rise of social media, and my own personal favourite hack website, Pinterest (I mainly use it to plan my holidays rather than find out the best way to clean a block plug, but each to their own). Houses have moved from those eclectic places where we show off all our nick nacks to this white and grey show homes. Again, each to their own. More and more people are also spending money on a cleaner. If you’re looking for one I recommend TidyChoice.
However, this has lead to a rise in plastic and chemical consumption which is not only bad for our bodies (think of all that bleach and fresh pine you’re inhaling daily) but bad for the environment too. With the state of the world at the moment we should al be trying our best to go a little more eco friendly, which is why I love this infographic from Pattersons, that gives you some ideas for eco friendly cleaners.
I know a lot of people, myself included, worry that going eco friendly will cost them more, and with the country’s finances also being the worst they have been in a while I can’t say I blame people wanting to pop down to discount stores and stock pile cleaning products. But it honestly doesn’t need to be an extra expense. A lot of eco friendly cleaners can be made from things you’ll either have in your cupboard or can be still found in a discount store. Not only that, because you’re making your own these ingredients will last long than a made up bottle!
My personal favourite is tip 2. Having a child with extra sensitive skin that is prone to eczema means that I have to be so careful with what I use to wash clothes and bedding (and another reason using harsh chemicals to clean the house is out of the question). Using the above eco friendly mixture is much kinder for sensitive skin.
