Do your Research
When you have a baby at home, flexibility needs to be key when it comes to finding the right instructor. That’s why doing your research is super helpful when it comes to finding the best instructor that’s suited to you. Social media is a great way to find recommendations, information and prices for driving lessons in your area. If you’re unsure on who to choose, call driving schools and instructors to enquire about their available lesson slots. This will give you an idea on if you can slot lessons into your week. If you’re still unsure on who to contact in regards to driving lessons, call the dvla for some assistance.

Plan in Advance
With many instructors, you will need to book lessons in advance anyway, but if this isn’t the case, it’s best to plan when you can learn in advance. This will avoid any last minute cancellation fees, and will give you some peace of mind within your weekly schedule. Planning your lessons in advance will also give you time to plan care for your children, should they need it whilst you’re away from the house.

Embrace the Process
Although it can be hard raising a child and learning to drive, amongst everything else in your life, the process can actually be therapeutic. Okay, so your first few lessons can be anxiety-inducing, but once you get a feel for it, driving can be quite therapeutic and mindful. It allows you to think about things, put things in order in your head, and actually get out of the house for a bit. If your instructor is friendly, it makes the process even better.
