Guest Post // Why You Should Buy a Pet Tag*
My dog is my love and I am his proud guardian. Hi, I am David, the parent of an American Bulldog. He is now six, quite naughty, annoying, but my true companion in life’s bumps and brakes. Those memories are still fresh as springs when I bought him from the pet store down the street. The blackish white shade on his face and the sparkling cuteness melted my heart that made to take him home.
There are so many memories that it’s hard to share everything over here. But I still remember the way he cuddled me, wake me up with his tongue when he was just months older. Being a proud owner I tried to give the best what he needed the most, especially food, training, hygiene, dresses, and medication. Since his young age, he easily bonded with those persons who were friendly with me and he never crossed the home boundary without my permission. As he grew a little, he started going out frequently, but it had never happened that he didn’t return back in few minutes. Actually, he got a new friend in the next lane and tries to watch her by calling her at the gate.
Well, these were some of his common day activities which he used to perform daily. Then one random day, I met a friend who guided me for purchasing a pet tag for my darling doggie. I was surprised about what’s the need of a tag when I know this is my dog and he hardly goes away from me. As I went home, this thought came to my mind regularly about purchasing a pet tag. Then one day finally went to a pet shop to buy one for my dog and in a whole variety of the tags, I was totally confused about what to choose. Then a kind and a generous lady standing in the corner asked me about what I was looking for.
Firstly, she explained to me about the importance of pet tags
Basically, pet tags play an important role while making it easier to identify the pet. They come in various sizes, shapes, and designs. Some have bells with them, which mostly annoy the pets. The important point is that these tags are pet saviours, which increased the chance of a reunion when your dog is lost.
A guide on why you should buy a pet tag
The cost of not having the pet ID is more expensive than purchasing a pet tag itself. By speaking this she gave me a five-minute guide on why to buy a pet tag for my dog.
The level of risk with your pet
Losing a pet is certainly the most common thing as you can see signs like “lost dog” every now and then, especially with thefts on the rise. These situations are very sad and depressing as you love your pet like a family member. If your pet has the expertise to escape quickly, then there is a high risk of losing a pet.
Losing your pet is not the only risk
Pet thefts are very common these days when people steal your pets and seek reward from your side. Also, most of the time they sell them further or use them in dogfights.
If you are out and you call your friend to take care of your pet
There are times when you have to arrange a nanny for your pet. A pet tag not only carries his name but all other necessary information which is important for a pet caretaker.
Being a dog companion, pet tags of real quality should be durable enough to sustain for longer duration and reliable enough to attain useful information. Don’t go for the plastic tags, your dog will chew it, rather use metallic ones with engraved information that lasts long. If you feel this kind if tag may irritate your pet, then silicon or rubber tags are best.
