My Three Favourite Holiday Moments from 2017*

Now we’re half way through March, 2017 feels like an absolute life time ago! On the whole, it was a good year for us, we had our ups and downs but we also had a lot of wonderful adventures both at home and abroad. Although I’m desperately willing the next 66 days to fly by so we can be back in Walt Disney World, I thought i’d take today to reflect on some wonderful holiday memories we made last year by sharing 3 of my favourites.

Starting with a memory from home, rather than abroad;

Last year Little Miss and I really started to explore London, and I was so excited to discover she loved our Capital city as much as I do! We visited in April, May and August, meaning we were blessed with weather that allowed us to really explore. We managed Harrods, Kidzania, an MCM Comic Con, the British Museum, Kensington Garden, Hyde Park, Thames River Boat, Madame Tussauds, The London Eye as well as seeing Big Ben as that’s where Peter flew with Wendy, John and Michael.

My favourite memory was from our May trip though when LM spent a whole afternoon playing in the Princess Diana Memorial Garden. It was a warm day with a few showers but she must have spent 4 hours playing and exploring the garden which is a huge playground based on JM Barrie’s Peter Pan. She still talks about it now so I know it made a huge impression on her. I really hope we can head back again this summer and take a picnic.

Now onto a few Disneyland Paris memories;

Last January we went away to Disneyland Paris for LM’s birthday. We stayed in Santa Fe and had a brilliant time with my bestie Bee and her girls. As amazing the trip was, including doing the Inventions Neverland Brunch which was probably LM’s best day of her life so far, fulfilling a life long dream of being an Annual Pass holder to a Disney park pips it slightly. Why? Because on that Annual Pass we managed to have 6 more magical trips that gave us some of our best memories of 2017. Although they’ve now expired the plan is still to renew them in the summer as we made so many amazing memories at DLP over the last year we can’t bear to stay away too long.

Although we have had so many magical Disney moments that I shared already, my favourite Disney memory is of course from our October trip when we went with my parents, sister and nephew. This one wins hands down because after 15 years I finally got to go back to a Disney park with my family. Usually LM and I do Disney alone or with friends, so to share our special place with the people I love most was truly magical. Despite the weather and my dad’s broken foot, we all had an amazing time and I hope it won’t be the only time we all go together. It is a trip I’ll never forget and I’m so happy we did it. Seeing my nephew’s face when he met Stitch, my sister cry as we walk through the gates and my dad gush how much he loved it meant everything to me. Those few days are probably my favourite memories from 2017, period.
