Since we’re now off to Florida in 20 days (EEK!) I figured I should probably get the photos from our last trip printed out so I could share with the family who aren’t on Facebook. It took a long time to narrow down the prints from well over a thousand to the 400 that would fit in the two albums I bought from an outlet mall over there ($9.99 each!) While I was going through the process of picking out the photos I wanted printed and editing them, I did become rather tearful at all the wonderful memories we made and we’re going to be making again next month. Our hearts truly reside out at Walt Disney World, and I don’t think this is something likely to change.
When I headed over to Snapfish to upload them for printing, I ended up browsing the gift section, and since I had credit I felt inspired to have a go at some creations using some of our wonderful Disney memories that would make them feel more everlasting than simply tucked away in an album we got out on special occassions.
Here is what I got up to;
Lay Flat Photo Book* from £5.99First up, I decided to create an autograph book using the
photo book option on Snapfish. For each page I’d used a photo of LM meeting a character and then when we go back next month we’ll get them to sign it. That way it combines elements from both our trips. They’re really simple to make and I liked how you could use coloured backgrounds and choose where to position the photo and what size. This was really important because I need the space for the characters to write in. You can choose how many pages you want so I even left some blank ones at the back for characters we didn’t meet last time. I loved that this was an option, I could even ask our friends to leave us messages and this book will be something we can truly treasure for ever!
Personalised Photo Keyrings* from £2.99My Aunt recently told me that I was a hoarder because I like magnets and keyrings but the truth is, I only purchase ones of nostalgic value. One of the best & cheapest
photo gifts that Snapfish offer are magnets and keyrings. As my fridge freezer is home to all the magnets of places I’ve visited. I decided to get a couple of
personalised photo keyrings, one of LM meeting Peter Pan and one of her having a magical moment with Rapunzel. The key rings are great quality and I’ve already decided to order a couple more as stocking fillers for family members this Christmas.
A6 Enlargement* from £1.20Around our house I have a lot of photos. Yes, I like wall art (especially typography and quotes) but what I like most are photos of our most special times and favourite people. It stops me from feeling alone. In the lounge I have an enlargement of LM. I know most people these days have photo canvas, but I prefer to have a photo I can change as LM changes. Until I placed this order it used to be a photo of LM from a Christmas photoshoot she did, but now it holds a photo of LM as Alice. This dress was bought especially for the trip in April, but what makes it extra special is that the woman I ordered it from has become a bit of a friend. Seeing LM as Alice every day reminds me of not only the trip itself, but all the friends we’ve made because of it. And all the people who want to make LM feel special. You can easily print enlargements in the
photo printing section on Snapfish.
7×5 Collage Prints* from 12pAs I mentioned above, our walls are adorned with photos, in all rooms except two.. one is the bathroom and I doubt I’ll ever hang photos in there, but the other is strangely LM’s room. I tried to decide on a couple of prints to pop up in there, when I came across the option of
collage prints, which are amazingly not much more than regular prints. I went for two 7x5s and decided to add a very personal quote to go along the top of one of them. Since they are to hang in LM’s room, the Peter Pan one depicts some of the most magical of memories from our visit. Surprisingly to everyone LM fell in love with that lost boy and we visited him a lot. Her love for Peter Pan has sort of become famous, and I kinda never want her to grow out of it. To quote Wendy “I’ll always believe in you Peter Pan” on the top of photos of her dressed as Wendy, well it just brings a touch of magic to her bedroom. I was also able to turn the background green which really suited this particular collage. The other is of her time in Princess Fairytale Hall as her bedroom is princess theme so it’ll fit in perfect. Just need to pick up a couple of frames now.
6×4 Photo Prints* from 7p per printFinally, the item I had originally stopped by Snapfish for, my photo prints. I always go for 6×4 as they are usually what album I’ve bought but I always go to Snap Fish because I know I’m getting a good price and good quality. I was so happy when they arrived and LM and I sat down to sort them out, order them and put them into the albums. Then we were able to take them around to my grandmothers house and relive the memories with all our family. I’m still traditional in the fact I much prefer prints over keeping them on a disk drive and LM likes nothing more than settling down with an album and explaining what is happening in each photo, it really keeps the memory alive.
How do you like to keep photographic memories?
