Walt Disney World April 2015, Day 8 – Hollywood Studios & Magic Kingdom
So, in 24 days we’ll be off back to Florida and I’ve still got another three days of our last trip diary to post. OOPS! Where has the time gone? I’m not sure if anyone will read this, it’s definitely more for my own benefit now so I can look back and compare what we got up to on what days and at what parks as LM grows. I expect every trip to be different so by blogging about each day will be a nice account to keep.
I got up to day 8, our second Monday and our second to last full day. We started at Hollywood Studios but due to the rain we ended up back at Magic Kingdom and had the most magical time due to the park being so empty! That evening was probably the best of my life, so this post will be rather picture heavy.
As I mentioned above, we started at Hollywood Studios and arrived for rope drop. The park was so quiet as it was the first day after spring break. We headed over to the Animation Academy and met Minnie Mouse, then Sorcerer Mickey before queuing for about 40 minutes to see Baymax and Hiro. Although at the time it was hard with Little Miss being so impatient, I’m so glad we did it as they are no longer around to meet! In the queue we met Bee and her daughters Megan and Lily. Baymax and Hiro also ended up being two of Little Miss’ favourites! After the meet Bee and her family went their separate way while we went to see The Voyage of the Little Mermaid. It had never changed from when I saw it as a child and sobbed all the way through it because of the nostalgia. LM really enjoyed it despite it being so dated. After Voyage of the Little Mermaid we headed over to meet Bee again as I had FP with her partner Chris to ride Star Tours. Star Tours has been updated since my last visit and it’s now in 3D, and OH MY GOODNESS, it was amazing! Possibly one of my favourite rides in the whole resort, but I am a massive Star Wars fan girl! After the ride I swapped Chris for LM and we nipped around to meet Mike and Sulley from Monsters Inc. I was worried that LM would be a bit freaked out but she was actually awesome with them. She crept up to Sulley and roared at him like Boo does in the movie. It was adorable and when we were leaving the people in the queue applauded her. Definitely a proud moment of the trip.
For lunch we had reservations at Hollywood & Vine again, this time for the Disney Jr character meet. LM is still of the age to love the Disney Jr characters. Here she met Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, Jake and Handy Manny. HOWEVER, it was our worst meal of the whole trip. They were running an hour behind schedule leaving us to wait out in the rain. Our server was HORRIBLE. LM knocked over her milk and the waitress tutted and was rude while cleaning it up. The characters took ages to come around as they kept stopping to do dances. We wasted the best part of a few hours and it was not worth the time or the money.
After lunch, LM was so exhausted she fell asleep in her pushchair. I went to meet Mellie, her brother Benji and Aaron. Because LM was sleeping she missed our Disney JR show FP & I ended up leaving her with Mellie, Benji and Aaron while I went away to ride Toy Story Midway Mania. She slept all afternoon and I ended up just hanging out and drinking Starbucks before we headed to see if we could catch Character Palooza. As another storm set in we figured it was probably cancelled we called it a day and headed over to Magic Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom had completely cleared out due to the storm. We arrived with no FPs but walked straight in to see Tinkerbell. After seeing Tinkerbell we headed to Columbia Harbor House for some food and to decide how to spend our evening. We were joined by another friend Lindsey then we set on multiple character meets and we hit up Princess Fairytale Hall to see Rapunzel and Cinderella, then we popped into the Grotto to see Ariel. This was possibly one of the magical moments of the whole trip, Ariel was so excited to see LM in her Kiss the Girl Ariel dress! I ended up crying because it was just magic. Then we all rode The Journey of the Little Mermaid. After that we went to Pete’s Silly Sideshow and first saw Minnie and Daisy. Minnie popped out just before we were due to meet her so Lindsey and Aaron pretended to be her poodles while LM took the role of Minnie. It was the funniest moment of our trip and Minnie loved it when she returned. Then we went to see Goofy and Donald. Little Miss wanted to ride Dumbo next so Mellie took her on that. Then she wanted to ride It’s a Small World so Lindsey took her on that and then Aaron took her on the carousel. We had an hour left in the park so caught one of the last Enchanted Tales with Belle where LM was chosen to play the role of the Beast! It’s a highly coveted role as it means you get to dance with Belle. She was adorable, roaring and swinging her cape, then finally dancing with Belle. As if the night wasn’t magical enough, we were given an extra FP to meet Anna and Elsa. Elsa even showed LM how to build a snowman! Before swinging around to see Cinderella and Rapunzel again. Once again both princesses wanted their photo taken with LM at the same time! To top the night off, we paid a visit to see Mickey before watching Wishes from the bus stop. Magic Kingdom really is the place where dreams come true!

You know I love reading them! I think DHS is going to be a bit of a dud park for a while till they add all the new bit’s it’s been super neglected! Love that LM got applauded, so cute! It’s funny you should say that about Hollywood and Dine because I have heard so many complaints about that recently! They have th Star Wars Meet and Greet there too and apparently it’s just as awful! Your evening sounds like an actual dream!
