North East Body Shop Event

As I mentioned on my Weekly Wardrobe post, on Friday I attended a Body Shop event held in Newcastle and hosted by Maddie. Despite having severe train trouble (the train sat on the platform for an HOUR before departing due to a thunderstorm knocking out the lines) I arrived only 10 minutes late and even then it didn’t start straight away giving me time to meet up with some lovely bloggers i’d previously met at the Benefit Fake Up event or I regular chat to on twitter. I was especially pleased to see Louise of Confetti Letters, Chloe of Chloe Witty and Tasha of Hello Freckles. We were all greeted with a glass of Bucks Fizz and some delicious treats including donuts & cookies kindly donated by Millies.
Once everyone had arrived, Maddie bravely gave us a little speech welcoming us and explaining about what was offer including skin consultations, a hand bar and make overs if we should request them. The staff were all wonderful, a real credit to The Body Shop as they all made themselves ready and available but were not pushy in the slightest. We were offered a 50% discount too off all products except anything already discounted or on offer. What a treat!
We all spent a good while browsing and chatting. I genuinely love getting together with a bunch of bloggers knowing we all have common interests. I’m pleased to say I finally managed to meet some of my favourite twitter & blogger girls, Amy Lauren of Midas and Florence, Tor of That’s Peachy, Kate of Pretty Little Us (sadly only in passing, next time we shall chat!) and Libby of Gingerbread Buttons, as well as making some new friends.. I’m looking at you Sarah! We all had a browse and there was a raffle too before we all paid up and said our good byes.. until next time of course!
Here are some photos I took of the evening. I feel really lucky that I got to go, I know the places were much coveted!

My basket
I had saved up some money from eBay sales and I used that to pay for my purchases. I spent £32 which should of been £64! Here is my awesome little haul (not photographed is the bath lily I bought for my mum & one for my sister as well as a candle I bought her as house warming gift).
Grapefruit Body Shop Butter Mini £2.50 (RRP £5)
Grapefruit Body Mist  £3.75 (RRP £7.50)
Grapefruit Hand Sanitizer £1.25 (RRP £2.50)
Vitamin C Skin Reviver £7 (RRP £14)
Vitamin E Night Cream £5.50 (RRP £11)
Bath Lily £1 (RRP £2)
Body Brush £4 (RRP £8)
We also were all gifted with two goody bags! First one was from The Body Shop & it included a selection of discounts and leaflets, some samples and a travel size bottle of Madagascan Vanilla shower gel*, it smells delicious! The second goody bag was an amazing beetroot and sourdough loaf from The French Oven. When I’m next in Newcastle I will be buying some macaroons for sure! The loaf was delicious, we ate it with some butter and cheese, just as the French would! I’m 100% a French girl at heart!
It was a really lovely evening, thank you so much to Maddie and her co-workers! I’m looking forward to attending the Lush event next month and seeing some of the girls again. Please say hi if you’re going to that one, it would be nice to arrange a proper meal together before hand! I’m also super glad I got to spend so much time with Louise, she is a lovely blogger and I hope she finds some great blogging friends down in her new home in Somerset!
