Lemon & Mustard Crumb Chicken with Spaghetti Recipe

    November 24, 2014 /

The Great British Butcher All Natural Rubs and Crumbs Gift Set* RRP £18.60, Not On The High Street I was recently sent this fantastic Great British Butcher gift set to try. We all know how much I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen so it was clearly something I was going to get a lot of use out of. GBB was created by a third generation family working in the food and butchery trade. The set contains two rubs and two crumbs that contain all natural and only the best ingredients. They’re also vegetarian friendly (although this recipe isn’t). The set is available on Not On The High Street as well…

The Maison Maille Culinary Blogger Challenge

    May 2, 2014 /

Back in March I was contacted about a Culinary Challenge hosted by the people over at Maille. They were offering to send bloggers a couple of their products that would be used in original recipes as part of a competition. The winning entry, chosen by a panel of judges, would win a fantastic Food Lover London tour for two, valued at over £390 and the runners up will win a luxury hamper worth over £100. For me, any chance to win a trip to London in relation to food was enough to get my brain whirling with possible winning ideas. So I accepted and it took me a good six…

    Recipe No.19 French Onion Soup

    November 7, 2013 /

I decided to take a small break from my posts about Paris and share a dish I made last week when I was craving everything French (I also bought French brie & croissants!) Although I never ate it in Paris, I saw it many times on the menu in various restaurants so with the weather turning so cold, I thought I’d give it a go. I have in the past only ate in in restaurants in the UK and the recipe I adapted to suit me was one from a cook book by a British person, it was the Lisa Faulkner cookbook again, Recipes from my Mother for my Daughter,…

    Recipe No.18 Homemade Katsu Chicken

    October 22, 2013 /

The day I go for my big grocery shop always guarantees that I’ll feel more like experimenting in the kitchen. Last night of course was no exception. This is mainly because I make a list of new recipes to try and what ingredients I need to buy to make them. Topping my list for meals to make was Chicken Katsu. It’s been a while since I had my first and only chicken Katsu at Wagamamas back in May and there is the odd day when I crave it but with the nearest restaurant being well over an hour a way it’s not somewhere I can just pop to for lunch!…

    Easy King Prawn Spaghetti Recipe

    October 10, 2013 /

This weeks recipe is one of my favourite quick easy meals, although it’s not exactly that cheap as king prawns are quite expensive, but when I made this last week I’d picked these prawns up for £1.99 as they were reduced. They were fresh and I had originally decided to freeze them but then when time wasn’t on my side I used them to rustle up a tasty, filling and very quick dinner for myself. I love king prawns so much, I love them in Chinese food, Thai food, in a creamy garlic sauce with fresh bread a la Bee, but I love them most in pasta or risotto dishes.…
