Feed your Wanderlust with Ocean City, NJ Winter Vacay*
The New Jersey shores witness globetrotters like bees in the summer months. And, why not? There’s plenty of warm water, sun, and a gazillion other things to do. The Jersey Shore is a coastal region that lies along the Atlantic Ocean between the New Jersey shore’s central and south parts.
Locals believe that The Shore shines the brightest right from the onset of Memorial Day and Labor Day. Now that you’re planning to visit NJ in the winter months- to your luck, the ocean water doesn’t stop glistening. Although the crowds aren’t there to enjoy the bliss, this doesn’t change the fact that Ocean City doesn’t hibernate with the onset of winter. The family winter vacay is an ideal option for the ones looking out for adrenaline, full-fun activities, and fewer crowds. Believe me when I say that there is a lot to do at the beach in the winter season. There are boardwalks to zoos, breweries, concerts, and beyond. Another perk of visiting off-season is the low rentals, free parking, smaller crowds, and tranquility in the array of attractions.
- Enjoy the Valentine’s Day:
If your romantic date revolves around taking long beach walks, then hitting the Ocean City beaches somewhere around Valentine’s day should be on your list. You can experience the fun when you consider beach house rentals in NJ at a beach proximity location. You can also surprise your loved one with Valentine’s day dinner at a downtown restaurant. The Historical Museum at Ocean City holds an annual Children’s tea. You can enjoy the high tea that has a pool of fun art and craft projects.
- Explore the Boardwalk:
Many shops and amusements at the shore remain closed around the season, the boardwalks are always open for biking and strolling. Depending on the town you choose to visit, a few mainstays open all through the year with heavy traffic on weekends and more business during the festive season. One of my personal favorites is the Manco & Manco Pizza, where you can see the dough being thrown into the air after being stretched. There are many other delicacies that you can enjoy at the boardwalk.
- Experience the Arcade and other Amusements:
You will admit that even the bravest souls would not want to experience the adrenaline rush on the roller coaster. The ride on the Pirate Ship gets even more daunting when it is 40 degrees outside, but is surely a worthwhile experience. Yet, if the adventurous ride scares you, you can consider some classic games. These can be Skeeball or some other popular arcade video games. Also, look in for some indoor rides in the winter months- the ones that stay open round the year.
- Visit the Free Public Library:
The Ocean City library has activities and events around the year. The best thing is that they don’t take a break-even during the winter season. It is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the weekdays and 5 p.m. on the weekends. Now, if your kid is an avid reader, you can take his interests to the next level. Amongst other events at the library, there are cooking and baking classes. The library also transforms itself into a film theatre a few times of the year. The films at the library include school and kids’ movies. The option is idyllic if your beach weekend plans get spoiled due to breezy showers. Several musicians also perform at the library throughout the year.

However, other kinds of people wish to sit back, relax and enjoy the quality time together. Now if that’s on your mind, then there are vacation rentals available in Ocean City. These help you make the best of your indoor time. All you’ve to do is choose a vacation rental at the prime beach location so that you can watch and enjoy the ocean waves.
