Best Buying Guide on Choosing a King Size Mattress*

Have you tried replacing your old mattress? Well, while this may sound exciting but it’s not such a simple process. There are hundreds of different models in the market nowadays making it harder for us to choose the best. Besides, the cost is also a huge issue, and you’ll find others going for shocking prices. However, when it comes to mattresses, you get what pay for.

Before I replaced my old mattress, it served me for more than ten years. Of course, not even the best mattresses can beat the test of time, and it eventually got worn out. So, while picking a king size mattress, ensure that it’s of good quality and long-lasting material. With that said, these are some of the other buy tips I got from the entire experience.

What Type Of Support Do You Prefer?
The first decision I had to make was the core of the mattress. This is the area which offers the kind of support you need. I found that there are four main types;

– Air Filled
– Latex
– Foam
– Innerspring

The innerspring mattresses give the best bouncy feel. I loved that you can decide on its level of ‘spring.’ Innerspring mattresses usually come with foam or an outer layer of fiberfill. For an additional firm base, memory foam mattresses are the best. They have less spring with a thickness level that varies from two to six inches. Once you sit on it, it won’t budge or sink past the upper layer.

What about buoyancy? Well, latex mattresses have a little more rear spring than other types. Although they are costly, they can last for more than 20 years!

Lastly, I saw that regarding customization, the air-filled, rubber vinyl king size mattresses are a perfect choice. It comes with a remote control device that allows you to control the amount of air!

How Do You Sleep?
We all have different sleeping positions. Most of these postures are created by our subconscious, meaning that it’s hard to identify how you sleep. However, as I was searching for the most fantastic king size mattress, I took time to learn about my sleeping position.

Here, I found that I mostly sleep on my side. So, I needed a mattress surface with immense pressure relief and the ability to relax while still supporting my body weight. Most importantly, it had to conform to the shape of my body!

Here are the mattresses to get depending on your sleep posture:

– Sleeping on your stomach – Air filled or Latex mattresses
– Do you sleep on your back? Get a firm spring mattress for healthy back alignment
– If you keep tossing from one side to another – Here, consider an innerspring king size mattress with memory foam, pocketed coils or even Latex

Take Care Of Warranties!
In the past, I thought that a more extended warranty shows promise and confidence in the product. Shockingly, this is not the case! Warranty is just a marketing strategy. It usually covers the defect in the problem which will undoubtedly reveal itself within a year (or according to the warranty period indicated). So, avoid buying your king size mattress by only looking at the length of the warranty.

I believe with these easy guidelines; you can now shop for the best products quickly. Also, keep in mind that other than just quality, you need to ‘fall in love’ with the mattress!
