Things I’m Looking Forward to in Walt Disney World Oct 2016
With less than 6 weeks to go until Walt Disney World October 2016 I’m into crazy planning mode for our trip. The spreadsheet is updated daily, the outfits are being planned and I’m already dreaming of red velvet Mickey cake pops, so I feel it’s time to share with you all what I’m really looking forward to doing while we’re out there in October. As we’re staying on site for the full two weeks there will be a lot of Disney, in fact, every day will be Disney and I’m so ready.
Staying at Old Key West
This time we’re staying at what is classed as a delux villa resort. So far we’ve stayed at All Star Music & Movies as well as Port Orleans French Quarter & Riverside. We have a studio room for the four of us which is great as I doubt any of us will spend much time in the room. However I am looking forward to really exploring the resort. The pool has a sandcastle slide which will appeal to Little Miss, and from the photos it looks really beautiful. Eventually I’d love to stay at all the resorts so this will be another one check off our list.
Having the Disney Dining Plan
I have never had the dining plan on any of my trips. I’ve always felt envious of those with the refillable cups and it’s been so difficult not character dining every day (or dining at a table service restaurant at all last time as we were so broke!) however this time it’s different and I can’t wait! Although I am really excited that I can eat at all my favourite character dining haunts such as 1900 Park Fare, Cinderella’s Royal Table, Crystal Palace and trying some new ones like Garden Grill what I’m most excited about is my snack credits can be used for Food & Wine at Epcot. Because we get both a table service and quick service meal per day for both of us (that’s a lot of food!) I’m going to have plenty of snack credits to use on our day enjoying Food & Wine!
Food & Wine Festival
As I’ve briefly mentioned it already, I’m so excited for Food & Wine. Aside from Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party, Food & Wine is the other reason I love going in the autumn. Like Flower & Garden it’s a festival at Epcot where pop up booths offer a special taster of food and drink from around the world. Of course I’m more excited because I have snack credits to use this year so I can try anything I like, but it’s also a great atmosphere. Epcot is a huge park and even when it’s busy there is still plenty of room around World Showcase to wander and relax. I’m dedicating a whole afternoon and evening to enjoying the festival and eating my way around the world.
The Sprinkles Cupcake ATM
I rarely pencil in time to explore Disney Springs because I don’t have the money to shop but this time I have maked a whole morning there as I really enjoyed our evening back in March. My reason this time? To use the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM. It’s an ATM that gives you cupcakes and I’m so excited to give it a try.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
The reason for booking to go in October is for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, we did it last year and it was such fun although we didn’t get half of what we wanted done due to being in such a big group and I had no idea what I was doing. Last year we did Tink & Wendy, this year we’re doing The White Rabbit & Alice. We definitely want to meet Sally & Jack and of course Alice & The Queen of Hearts. Watch Boo to You and Hocus Pocus. Spend less time on the Hub Grass and more time enjoying the party we’ve paid nearly £150 for! It’s a lot of money but I really love it and I want to make the most of it as much as possible this year.
Watching Mickey’s Royal Friendship Fare
We all know I was really sad to say goodbye to Dream Along with Mickey, no more Peter and Wendy on the main stage but having watched it on youTube I am looking forward to finally seeing Tiana up there with Naveen. Little Miss on the other hand, she’s not amused and she did not enjoy the new show. I do finally want to say I’ve seen it, at least a couple of times but I’m not sure it’ll become a religious watch like DAWM was, because a) I’m not sure I can take that much Frozen and b) Little Miss isn’t a fan. Hey, at least I might avoid sunburn this year!
Reuniting Little Miss with All Her Friends (both Disney and non)
For me, one of the best things about going to Florida is how loved Little Miss is. I cannot wait to reunite her with her little friends as well as with her favourite characters. It’s been such a blessing making friends with parents who have kids Little Miss age for her to play with and dress up with in the parks. I feel so crazy honoured that she gets to have this experience and I know as much as she misses Peter Pan, Alice and the princesses, she misses spending so much time with children her age with similar interests.

Not long to go now! How exciting! I’m already planning for when we go in May next year.

I CAN’T WAIT. Every weekend I ask D who she wants to see at Disney and she always names Livvy. And sometimes you, too 😉
Also I think Livvy might like Friendship Faire once she has a chance to see it in person. It’s not DAWM, but it has its moments.
