Harajuku Lovers Fragrance Pop Electric G Review
I have said many times before, but on the whole I’m very loyal to the Marc Jacob’s range of perfumes, however I’m always open to trying something new, especially at the start of a new season when I’m on the hunt for that “signature scent”. Back in my late teens, I had a lovely collection of Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Lovers collection of perfumes, mainly because the cute little figures on the top of the bottle appealed. I wouldn’t say I out grew them, but once they were empty, my then boyfriend started replacing them with bottles of Daisy and Lola. However, when I was offered the chance to review one of the newest scents in the Harajuku Lovers collection Pop Electric G, I was more than happy to give it a try. And you know what? I love it. Not because it’s a perfume I’d regularly go for, but because it reminds me of happier times and for that reason, it’s my summer scent. Summer is supposed to be a happy time, right?
Once again, the bottle looks great on my dressing table and the silver is very eye catching a(nd sun catching for that matter). It’s still quirky which is what appeals to me but the silver for some reason feels more “adult” than the older bottles. The perfume is actually only contained in the small white square at the bottom but it is a standard 30ml release which does go quite far. It also comes as a 50ml.
According to the Debenhams website Pop Electric G is described as;
A creamy modern gourmand featuring a delectable whipped coconut accord, enveloped in soft florals and musky woods.
I wasn’t sure at first how I would fare with this as the top note is coconut (as we’ve had issues in the past but I think I’m over that particular Malibu incident) but in my opinion that’s what makes it a truly summery scent. It reminds me so much of that smell when you step off the plane somewhere hot, sun cream mixed with happiness is probably the only way I can describe it. It’s not over powering and after the strong coconut smell dies down a little you’re left with a very light floral fragrance which is more what I usually go for. It really is a feminine fragrance and I’m so glad I tried it. The best part is the price. Unlike it’s more top end competitors for summer scents, Harajuku Lovers Pop Electric G is only £24.95 for the 30ml and £34.95 for the 50ml.
