My Favourite Purchases from Florida, April 2015
As I mentioned before heading out to Florida I had a bit of cash that was purely for spending. At the end of the day I didn’t end up having as much as I thought as food cost way more than I budgeted! But I still managed to pick up some gorgeous bits and I wanted to share my particular favourites with you all today.
First up, my favourite purchase from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is the wand I picked up. It’s from Ollivanders and is an Ivy wand. I like to believe that if I was in Harry Potter my wand would be Ivy with a unicorn hair core so obviously this was the wand I wanted. It’s one of the interactive wands meaning it can be used to cast spells in the parks, it also made it close to $50 with tax but I had decided I wanted one. I love the details on it and the box it came in. Now I have it I won’t need to get one when I go back. I also got a Ravenclaw scarf, some Bertie Botts beans and a Chocolate Frog which really weren’t worth the money but you know, you live and learn!
Unlike last summer I didn’t pick up any US cosmetics, instead I picked up some Disney brushes by Soho from Walgreens. I found the Little Mermaid set and the Beauty and the Beast set, they were both about $10. The Little Mermaid set contains two, a complexion perfecting brush and a beauty highlighting brush. The Beauty and the Beast set contains three brushes a flat angled liner brush, medium smokey fluff brush and a large smokey fluff brush. I have yet to use them but they do feel incredibly soft. I LOVE Walgreens, it’s a must visit for when I’m over however because I was worried I wouldn’t find any of the limited edition Disney stuff I also placed an order prior to arriving for a set of Sleeping Beauty brushes and an Elsa contour palette that I will be reviewing at some point.
In Walt Disney World I treated myself to the most expensive phone case I’ve ever bought! It cost almost $40 with tax but it was worth it! I adore sketch designs of Disney princesses and not only that but the case has two of my favourite’s Rapunzel and Ariel. It’s so much sturdier than my cases I usually buy from eBay and I love it. I’m hoping it will last me until next October when I’m due my upgrade and I’ll be back in Disney World to buy a new case. My most frivilous but awesome purchase has to be this dinglehopper hair brush, it was $10 and I just love it. So much I hardly use it, it’s just sitting pretty on my dressing table. It is great for getting through wet hair though. I also picked one up for my sister. I mentioned how long I have been searching for the “Once a Princess Always a Princess” mug, well I found it, in our hotel shop no less! It was so much cheaper than I thought at $12.95. Finally in Disney World I managed to get the three Pandora charms I was after. These are exclusive for the states at the moment and the three of them with tax were rather expensive but I have no regrets! I got the 2015 charm, a beautiful A Dream is A Wish charm and finally Cinderella’s Castle which also has “Walt Disney World” on the base. When I return in October I plan on only picking up one charm and treating myself to a couple of Alex and Ani bangles.
Finally, I found a Hallmark in Florida Mall, unlike the store I visited in Maryland, this was just a pop up stall but I still managed to find a few things I really wanted including this truly beautiful Rapunzel Silhouette that now stands on my fireplace. It’s so different and it’s probably my absolutely favourite purchase. I can’t wait to go back to get another one! I really wish we had Hallmark over here, it’s up there with Hot Topic!
Finally two things I wanted to share but completely forgot about when I was taking the first set of photos. I knew from the word go I wanted one of these throw cushions but I was sure I wanted a princess related one until I spent some time with LM and Peter Pan. When I saw this cushion and it matched my sitting room I had to get it. I just love it, it’s such a good quality and really comfy. Plus it looks good. The cup was made by a friend and it’s perfect for having juice in it. I’m trying so hard to live my life by that quote, so far it has brought me amazing luck and it’s such a good mantra. On the back it has “Disney World 2015” on it.
As I mentioned above, this isn’t all I bought. I picked up some other bits from Hallmark, placed a couple of Hot Topic orders and of course bought the obligatory magnets and keyrings. I won’t lie, I’m already planning what I’m going to buy come September although I know I won’t have as much money this time around, but then there is always October 2016!

I seriously need to save up for or trip, I really want that hair brush! There’s so much cool stuff, can you just get stuff delivered back to your hotel room? I seem to remember that xx

I’m so glad you finally got the Cinderella mug! I bought that when I was in Walt Disney World and it’s definitely one of my favourite Disney mugs (and I have quite the collection)!

I love everything!! I already have a massive wishlist for when we go and now I’m adding on the makeup brushes too.
I love the cup, I know it’s from Cinderella but it reminds me of some lyrics from a song by The National that I had put onto a bracelet “Be brave and be kind”.
