Benefit Fake Up in Light Review
Here it is, the review you have all been waiting for; Benefit Fake Up*. As I mentioned in my post about the blogger event for this product, I would be doing a separate review after trying the product. It’s not almost two weeks and I have worn Fake Up as my under eye concealer every day (almost as I do have one-two days a week make up free) since. I feel I’ve given it a fair go and i’m now ready to tell you all about about!

So what do you need to know about Fake Up? For starters it’s the first of it’s kind, a revolutionary new hydrating & crease controlling concealer. It contains vitamin E and appleseed extract in a ring surrounding the colour core which gives immediate moisturisation that lasts for up to 6 hours! It’s special formula won’t crease, cake or settle.
And the Benefit statistics?

- 100% said fakeup feels comfortable on skin*
- 100% said the texture feels silky*
- 94% said the effect is long-lasting*
- 94% said fakeup doesn’t run*

What do I think? Well the fact my poor Erase Paste has lay abandoned in my make up bag really says it all! A product i’ve sworn by for months just cannot match how great Fake Up is at hiding my dark circles; a trait of all “real” mothers (I say real as in don’t have a nanny to do all the hard jobs for them). It doesn’t sink into my lines and blends nicely into my foundation. It’s also so light to wear and so silky especially if I apply it over my Porefessional. It does feel slightly greasy if you swatch it on your skin but once blended it looses that feeling.
I apply it in a circle around my eyes and use my finger to blend in. I do this after my primer and before my foundation. I usually reapply in the afternoon but over my foundations and set it with powder. I’ve had a small dry patch on my chin this weekend and i’ve used it to cover that, the hydrating ring has been great at moisturising without using moisturiser! Score, as I usually find this removes my foundation but not with Fake Up.
I love the packaging! It looks like it’s lipstick and is small enough to slip in my handbag if i’m not taking my full make up bag out. The fact it just glides onto the skin is great for me as I can apply it with one hand. Sometimes I don’t have much time to apply my make up with Little Miss on the go.
The light one is perfect for my skin which is fair and the medium one is perfect for my sister with her olive skin, but like with all foundations & concealers I suggest you go to a Benefit counter and have your skin properly matched.
It retails for £18.50 and will be available country wide from the 30th March. I will be purchasing this once my current one runs out, what a hit!

I’ve been hearing only good things about the Benefit Fake Up. I find it a bit pricey, but oh my, it seems so so good!

I try to save up to buy their stuff rather than lots of cheap high street products that don’t agree with my skin!

I tested this in Debenhams recently and it felt sooo nice, I’d love to try it on my dark circles and see how it compares to my usual concealers. I think I’m going to have to visit the counter again 🙂 x
